This time Mizar hit right in the heart with melodic, yet filled with sorrow songs, sung by the choir for Byzantine and Eastern Orthodox medieval music called “Harmosini”.
Balkan Peninsula is a place where every single stone has his own history and it is soaked with blood. This fact make music from the region filled with sadness and beauty, desperation and courage and love and hate in the same time.
Being dark wave band since the 80’s Mizar gained cult status among the music lovers in Balkan and neighbor countries. But this album is different! It still keeps their trade mark sound, still can be described as Byzantine gothic. It still has slow songs, dark wave feeling, but this time no one of their remarkable leading singers are presented! Deep voices are singing with pride and dedication, the songs were written ages ago and this makes your skin shiver. The choir is the leading singer, which make the album sound much more epic, heroic and thrilling. There are guitar oriented songs and traditional tune of Ljubka Rondova from Bulgaria (“White Sea”).
Close your eyes, and you will see the fall of Constantinople, listen and you will hear the steps of Alexander.
The album is packed in elegant A5 format digibook designed in traditional Balkan Art manner with drawings by Corvus.
